  • Fall 2009 New Course! 675/901 Seminar: Globalizing Higher Education and Research for the ‘Knowledge Economy’
    Kris Olds, Professor of Geography and EUCE faculty affiliate will offer this new course in the Fall of 2009 designed for both upper level undergraduate and graduate students (MA/MSc/PhD). In commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, this Workshop will look at both the Cold War and the post-Cold War period, identifying themes and events that led to the dismantling of the Iron Curtain, evaluating the monumental changes in Europe in the last twenty years and highlighting both their regional and global significance.

Catherine Barnard

Has "Social Dumping" Arrived in the EU? The Cases of Viking and Laval

Professor Barnard is a fellow of Trinity College and Jean Monnet Chair of EU Law at the University of Cambridge.  Her interests include European Community law, labor and discrimination law.  She is the author of numerous books and articles on EU and labor law, including The Substantive Law of the EU: The Four Freedoms (Oxford UP, 2006) and EC Employment Law (Oxford University Press, 2004).
