The Netherlands has some of the most progressive and innovative environmental
policies on sustainable development in the world, and Cees Moons has been
closely involved in developing these policies. Embedded in Dutch policy are a
number of innovative incentives including progressive relationships with industry.

Cees Moons has worked at the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and
Environment (VROM) for 23 years, holding a number of posts, including Senior
Policy-Maker for the External Safety Issues Department. In his most recent
