The Netherlands has some of the most progressive and innovative
environmental
policies on sustainable development in the world, and Cees Moons has been
closely involved in developing these policies. Embedded in Dutch policy
are a
number of innovative incentives including progressive relationships with
industry.
Cees Moons has worked at the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning
and
Environment (VROM) for 23 years, holding a number of posts, including
Senior
Policy-Maker for the External Safety Issues Department. In his most recent
position at VROM, Mr. Moons was Deputy Director of Industry and Consumer
Policy. He was also Project Leader for the Netherlands'
fourth National Environmental Policy Plan (released last year).
