Sandra Petrignani

Sandra Petrignani was born in 1952 in the northern Italian town of Piacenza, but lives in Rome. She is the author of six books of fiction: Navigazioni di Circe (1987), Il Catalogo dei Giocattoli (1988), Poche Storie (1993), Vecchi (1994), Ultima India (1996), and Come fratello e sorella (1998). One of her books, Il Catalogo dei Giocattoli, The toy Catalogue, has been translated in English and published by Boulevard Books/Harrap's.

Barbie was beautiful, wealthy and independent. Beauty and elegance were a game and an achievement, not the essential starting point to get ahead. She didn't seem to have a family and pregnancy wouldn't suit her figure.
