TRANSATLANTIC GOVERNANCE IN A GLOBAL ECONOMY

Mark A. Pollack and Gregory C. Shaffer, editors
(Rowman and Littlefield, 2001)

In May of 1999, the EU Center of the University of Wisconsin hosted a two-day workshop on "The New Transatlantic Dialogue: Intergovernmental, Transgovernmental, and Transnational Perspectives." The workshop, which was organized by UW faculty members Mark Pollack (Political Science) and Gregory Shaffer (Law), featured presentations by leading experts in the field of transatlantic relations, each of whom was asked to describe and analyze the record of transatlantic governance in terms of the workshop's core categories of intergovernmental, transgovernmental and transnational relations. Based on the discussions at the Madison conference, the editors and participants subsequently revised their presentations for publication in Transatlantic Governance in the Global Economy, an edited volume that was published by Rowman & Littlefield Press in 2001.
